CliMap-R combines quasi-physically based remapping algorithms that have proven robust in a variety of previous studies in combination with ordinary direct interpolation techniques to topographically correct coarsely resolved hourly meteorological data for the variables temperature, precipitation, air humidity, short- and longwave radia- tion, surface pressure as well as wind speed.

CliMap-R includes the following functionality:

Output of CliMap-R can be used as input for hydrological simulations or climate studies. As plots for the model domain and selected output locations are exported by default, the remapping tool is particularly suited to be applied in an educational context. The model is developed in the R scripting language and will be publicly available in form of an R-package shortly.
